Experience Summary
Over the past 12 years, I've earned numerous degrees and certifications, however, none of them compare with what I've learned from the students I've personally taught. Each year in the classroom has taught me that children learn and thrive on a diverse number of situations and goals. I've learned that there is no one right way for any child, and that finding the link to their understanding is essential. As an educator, I believe that additional means of differentiation and individualized learning is desperately needed.
Teaching Style
I sincerely believe that my specific learning style is one of trust and love. I firmly believe that in order for a student to learn, they must both trust you and believe that you like or love them. Knowing this, my style of teaching is a personal one. I prefer to push my students within their comfort level. Many of my students often say "this is too hard." When I hear this, I know that they are just where they should be. I prefer for my students to make attempts and then allow me to help them before they become frustrated. Guidance more so than teaching is my goal.
