Experience Summary
During my undergrad studies, I began tutoring with children (usually 1-2 at a time) from pre-school age with phonics and sight reading until the present time with reading, writing, math, science and history. I have also worked in a private girls school as an After School Study Hall teacher for Grades 5-8 and presently I am a Substitute teacher for Grades K-6 in a self-contained classroom.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching children of all ages. Being a tutor and substitute teacher has provided me the opportunity to see so much growth and potential that children have. I believe everyone has opportunity to do their best and I always stay positive to encourage them to try. If a child is about to give up trying, I encourage them to take a short break, then try again. I tell them, "practice makes perfect." Never give up before you try something new.
