Experience Summary
I recently graduated summa cum laude from Boston University with my B.A. and M.A. in European Cultural Studies and Journalism. The core of my curriculum as a Trustee Scholar in the University Professors Program was three consecutive programs in Europe. In Paris, I worked as the American Correspondent for a prominent French magazine. There, I demonstrated my success as an “ambassador” at frequent press conferences. Because of my meticulous editing skills, readiness to collaborate, and bounty of creative ideas, the editor also invited me to assist him with his recent book, Bijoux, which was showcased at the Musée des Arts décoratifs. While studying modern British literature and history at Oxford, I took the initiative to devise a supplemental program of solo excursions to UNESCO World Heritage Sites in preparation for my thesis, “Cultural Landscapes of the Literary Imagination: Parisian Arcades, English Country Houses, and Roman Ruins.” My approach to cultural immersion involved securing interviews with locals and dignitaries alike, which established my ability to relate to individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds. Then, while taking courses on art history in Padua, Italy, I taught English language and literature to doctoral candidates. Though my course schedule was also challenging in Boston, I served as the Chair of the Trustee Scholars Steering Committee and worked at the Gibson House Museum, a National Historic Landmark. In recognition of my achievements, charismatic leadership, and integrity, BU nominated me for a Rhodes Scholarship.
Teaching Style
I have a passion for instilling in others a deep love of learning. I am patient, caring, and positive. Though some concepts may be difficult to grasp, I have demonstrated my ability to "think outside the box" and make learning fun.
