Experience Summary
Learning is a life long journey, and I started my journey rather late in life. The joys fo learning never stops. After I earned my undergraduate in business management I traveled to China to teach. During the time I was teaching conversation English, I could not get enough of learning and had fun discovering strategies for implementation to involve the entier class. My methods worked to the amazement of all the students and teaching staff plus the teaching leadership that were observing. I entered my Masters and continue to experience joy and build my expertise as a teacher combining many different tools with my students as I have completed my second Masters and am now entering my MBA stage of learning. Which is more fun, teaching or learning?
Teaching Style
Reading for me is my purpose in life. Reading is not only my hobby, but my business. I love teaching reading to all ages, and to international students from all countires. I implement various children's stories, such as the Dr. Suess seeries, and 101 Dalmatians, along with "The Aristocats" as I teach social/conversational English. Many Chinese students in my Chinese classes have gotten over their fear of speaking the English language after my lessons. I also integrate a game using a stuffed animal to involved students in all grades. I get 100% class involvement in my classroom. I am still learning, and am able to teach in a large classroom of 55-75 (Chinese style) students, or a little as 5-10 students in ESL. I also have my own classroom set-up in my church, ready to go.
