Experience Summary
Throughout my college years, I was involved in coaching high school aged students in baseball as well as younger kids in a baseball camp. During my last year of college, I helped with a after school tutoring program that included students up to the sixth grade. All subjects were covered and tutoring was done in one-on-one as well as small group settings. My bachelor's degree is from a self designed major I had developed to best fit the needs I saw beneficial for teaching in a non-traditional classroom environment. I later accepted an internship that fell in alignment with this self designed major working in the St. Louis Science Center.
Teaching Style
Since I have been coaching, I knew that I wanted to continue with passing on my knowledge to others. I believe that through teaching the passing of my knowledge can be most rewarding. Although I have worked with students in various fields and of various ages, I get the most satisfaction from watching a student succeed from diligent hard work and personal commitment to learning the task at hand. I feel that tutoring in a one-on-one setting best exemplifies this.
