Experience Summary
As an employee at the Anaheim Union High School District, and as an instructional assistant in the special education department, I have worked with children with a number of disablilities, many of which hinder them from progressing academically. Through the years I have learned to listen cater to students'individual academic needs, which means having flexibility in my teaching methods to enable each student perform each task with complete understanding. I have tutored in the subjects of Math, English, some Science and History.
Teaching Style
I have always been known to be patient and understanding, and my years as an Instructional Assistant has also taught me to be firm and forgiving. I value the time I share with students in a classroom because it is by far the best learning environment for a group of children. The first order of business that I strongly believe in is classroom management. I set the rules before anybody can break them. And with authority in place, I can proceed as a role model and an instructor. My curiculum would consist of hands-on activities and interactive measures that would spark interest in the children's minds, which in turn make learning a little more fun.
