Experience Summary
I have been in the education industry for three years with experience in High School General Education and Special Education. Most recently, I have worked with recent High School graduates. This opportunity allowed me to help individual students map the rest of their lives. I enjoy motivating students to take pride in their education. There is nothing more satisfying than helping a student understand their work and being proud of their achievements. Though, secondary education is essential in a person’s life, my long term goal is to become an English professor. My education at UCI focused around twentieth century philosophical and literary theories and works. I found my career path through my education at University of California, Irvine and I wish to help students find what they want in life through education, too.
Teaching Style
I have a history of helping students with the biggest challenges. My history in the field of education includes experience with High Functioning Autistic students and students with Emotional Disturbance. It was during this time when I learned I had a talent for patience and understanding for students with needs. Working in Special Education made me realize that every student has individual strengths and weaknesses. My goal is for those students to overcome their weaknesses and excel in their individual education. My ideal setting of teaching to reach this goal is a small group of students or on an individual level. I care for all my students and put my utmost effort in my work. I realize that each student is different, and each student will reach their potential in different ways. That is why I take the time to learn about my students instead of only instructing them.
