Experience Summary
I have a BS degree with a double major in Biology and Psychology. My majors in college have given me a strong foundation in math and science, but all of the reading and writing required during college have helped me hone my language skills as well. I have teaching experience in several different levels- I taught 2nd grade, middle school, and high school. I have experience both in the inner city environment as well as in a suburban school. I also have experience tutoring in small group and one on one in many different levels and subjects as well.
Teaching Style
I feel my teaching style is one of consistency, patience, and dedication. I am completely committed to my students and their success. I feel that all students can learn and achieve academically, but they each have a unique style of learning. It is my job as the teacher to find that style and do whatever it takes to help them understand the material and feel confident in their abilities. Children won't learn if I just talk at them, I need to create a supportive environment where they can be involved in the material and master the subject. Students can often get discouraged when they struggle in school, but I know that I can give them the support, guidance, and experiences they need to succeed.
