Experience Summary
I have considerable experience in teaching reading and writing skills. Through my studies in undergraduate and graduate programs, I have gained a firm grasp of the knowledge and skills necessary to teach English. Also, during my graduate studies I took a course on best teaching practices in a classroom setting. Further, I have two years of teaching experience at the college level and have worked as a tutor at the elementary and middle school level in the past. These experiences have fully equipped me to be a tutor for Advanced Learners. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Teaching Style
In the classroom, I believe the collaborative approach is the best method for teaching. For impactful learning to occur, students must be directly and actively involved in their learning. This can be done through group work, group activities, and class discussion. This approach is also best for tutoring. To be a good tutor, one must know how to best engage the tutee in the learning process. It is not enough to simply provide information; this can be accomplished simply by reading a book. A good tutor must put theory and knowledge into practice for the tutee to progresses as a student.
