Experience Summary
As a graduate from the University of Northern Colorado with my BA in Elementary Education (k-6) I have had much experience working with children and adolescence. Because of my IDLA major I have a well rounded education based around teaching all content areas (Literacy, Math, Science, and Social Studies). My specialty is English and/or Literacy which was the emphasis of my degree. Over the last two years I have tutored ESL students in literacy and math. I have a drive for helping others learn and I am constantly trying to excel my students to achieve to the highest of their ability. I believe that every student can reach success through hard work and dedication.
Teaching Style
I have a true passion for teaching children. It is because of this love for kids and teaching that I like to run a love and logic classroom where actions are met with consequences that will benefit every child throughout their child and adult lives.
My teaching philosophy is that of balance. I believe that every classroom and student requires a delicate balance of management, instruction, and respect. In my eyes every student requires this type of balanced approach to learning and growing. I also believe that every child is different and therefore each individual needs a different type of direction and instruction in order to be successful. As an educator I have and will strive to constantly differentiate instruction to fit the needs of all of my students.
