About Me

Experience Summary

I have extensive experience in the field of human resources, human relations, human skills and services, psychology, mentoring and coaching, training design, implementation and execution, business, marketing, public relations, leadership, organizational development and operations both locally and globally. Most recently, I worked with a private pharmaceutical organization where I was responsible for its employees based in the Philippines, Florida and Pennsylvania. Prior to that I worked with a publicly traded New York based mortgage company where I was responsible for the human resources department in the Southeast Region covering Atlanta GA, Raleigh NC, Columbia SC, Jacksonville, FL, Tampa FL and Sunrise FL. Other experiences include overseeing the human resources functions of an international law firm which gave me experience and exposure to labor law regulations of other Continents such as Europe and parts of Africa. In addition, I have had the opportunity to work and team with employees of all levels as well as third parties such as various Government agencies and vendors. With my knowledge and experience, I will bring quality of service and diligence, which are tantamount to the excellent service you offer. Some of my professional values are teamwork and professional growth and development.

Teaching Style

I was born in Jamaica; however I am a citizen of the United States of America. I am from a very large family where education and hard work were our mantra. My father attended the Oxford University in England and later became a Civil Engineer where he worked in Israel and in Jamaica. He was also a member of parliament in Jamaica. In his later years, my father was the owner of a real estate development company and commercial farming. My mother attended the University of the West Indies and Shortwood Teachers’ College and has recently retired from her position as the principal for a primary and junior high school in Jamaica and she is also a Justice of the Peace which is equivalent to a Mayor. As educators, my parents have instilled in me the value of education and how it can be used as a stepping stone to endless possibilities. Having a strong educational foundation is extremely important to me and I have sought to emulate those same values and principles of my parents. The opportunity to teach, mentor, coach and develop anyone whether at a high school, university or professional level have taught me that there is no one style of imparting knowledge. It simply has to be situational as each person is unique with varying characteristics, personalities, backgrounds, retentive abilities and reactions. The onus is on the educator or mentor to get into the mind of each individual and yield the best possible result. That is why I believe that having a sound background in psychology, social and emotional intelligence is of utmost importance to this profession. There has to be a sense of pride in what needs to be done and it is imperative that each educator or mentor take ownership of the task with which they are bestowed and not treat it as just another job. The understanding is that from one minute to the next, a professional may be called upon to wear various hats within legal and acceptable standards while getting the best from their subordinates. Having a significant influence and input in the outcome of the lives of individuals is a privilege and an honor that should not be taken nonchalantly. Being instrumental and effective in developing tomorrow’s leaders today is critical to the success of our nation.
