Experience Summary
I received my undergraduate degree and proceeded to begin my career as in inner city kindergarten teacher. I took several years off to start my family, and returned for fourteen more years as an inner city ESL/kindergarten teacher. I worked with children from many diverse backgrounds and I am knowledgeable in the multicultural field.
My experience is best summarized as focusing on a language rich, child centered environment that facilitated learning using phonics, hands-on mathematics, learning centers, and an integration of arts, science, social studies, with a thematic approach.
Teaching Style
My philosophy of my teaching style can be described as hands on, creative, child centered, yet with an emphasis on the traditional core subjects: reading, and math. My goal as an educator is to teach my students to develop a love for learning and a curiosity about the world around them. A child's character can besat be developed using a thematic, progressive approach.
