Experience Summary
I have a bachelor degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, which has allowed me to gain a deep understanding of both sciences. I was also a Mathematics tutor at Florida A&M University for about two years. I tutored everything from grammar school mathematics up to Calculus II. I have also tutored my fellow classmates in the field of Biology.
Teaching Style
What makes me a great tutor is my patience and understanding of a student in need. I believe all children are capable of success but sometimes may need a little extra help to get there. My teaching style is one of comparisons and analogies. Sometimes students just do not understand the mathematical terms. For this reason, I compare problems to something the student is familiar with, allow them to see the connection to the problem at hand and then guide them to solving the problem. This strategy has proven to be very successful and I've often had students tell me "You make it seem so easy!"
