Experience Summary
Working as a tutor has given me the opportunity to demonstrate great leadership among my peers and students while creating a positive environment. During my experience as a tutor I was able to incorporate knowledge that I obtained in my field of study, into my many tutoring sessions. I have also been able to utilize my techniques and skills learned throughout college as an aide to helping students succeed in their education. I have become quite familiar in the areas of chemistry, biology, microbiology, and parasitology and have been able to utilize my knowledge in these subjects to enhance my tutoring skills. I have tutored kids of all ages and backgrounds in just about every subject ranging from English to college math.
Teaching Style
One of my many passions in life is working with kids, specifically tutoring them. I have found that it is easier to tutor a student when they know that they are surrounded by positivity. With this I am referring to the feeling of comfort and knowing that it's ok to be wrong. I notice more confidence in my students when I establish a friendship with them. In addition to this, letting my students know that even at different ages, we can still relate to one another. I love incorporating visual images, tangible objects, color, laughter, and fun in my tutoring sessions. I strongly believe that repetition is important when learning something new. I have found that every students learning style is different and I have been able to easily adjust to this.
