Experience Summary
I started my career in education working with special needs children in a local special ed classroom. From there I returned to school and achieved my BA in Elm Ed. Due to cutbacks in the local school district I looked into employment with an early intervention provider for children ages 0-18. I have been employed with Quality Life Concepts since 2001, going into the homes of families with children with all ranges of developmental delays. My heart is into providing families with the best information on teaching their children in their home. I have had extensive training in speech and Autism which is on the rise all over the country, and yes even in small town Montana.
Teaching Style
I am very easy going and am approachable for children of all ages and delays. I try to get to know the child and capitalize on their strengths and make their weaknesses less pronounced in their work. You may notice, I am sure that I am not a good speller, been a weakness since I started school. I try to do my best and rely on spell check. I also have disgraphia, which is related to vision and hand coordination, which has me thanking the stars for the computer as my handwriting isn't pretty. I have my issues as does everyone and learning styles need to be understood and focused on for whatever age of student.
