Experience Summary
I graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in History from Carroll College in 2001. As an undergraduate, I was on the Dean's List for two and a half years; I was a member of the national honor society for students of Catholic colleges and universities, as well as a member of the national honor society for history students. After a two year hiatus from school, I attended the University of Montana School of law, graduating with a Juris Doctorate in 2005. I am well versed in a variety of academic fields and am particularly adept at research, writing, and speaking.
Teaching Style
I taught debate and public speaking at Carroll College from 2000 until 2002 and briefly assisted the University of Montana debate program during the 2003 academic year. Both positions required hands on instruction in the basics of rhetorical theory as well as extensive research and writing. A good instuctor is able to separate theory from practice (in any academic discipline) and reassemble them so the student has a broad understanding of both components. I am a firm believer in reading comprehension as a precondition for student success and endeavor to impress upon students the need to continually expand one's knowledge base through reading.
