Experience Summary
I have worked as a special education teacher, both in and outside of the general classroom setting. My experience has been with all age groups, especially birth through 5th grade, however I have recently begun working with at-risk high school students in an online curriculum. I have worked with children with all ranges of disabilities, from various types of learning challenges to physically challenged students and children diagnosed with behavioral differences. I enjoy adapting curriculum and academic tasks to meet individual learning styles.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is based on my belief that students learn best when an assignment becomes more of a "hands on" activity. Experiential learning can help all students if tailored to meet their needs as a unique learner. I strive for all of my students to become lifelong learners so that they have a set of strategies with which to approach each new subject area or task.
