Experience Summary
My source of income all throughout college has been through tutoring either at the college level or at the elementary and high school level. I am currently working on my Master's in Adolescence Education degree which I should complete in December 2008. I am student teaching as well as tutoring at a local community center in Buffalo. My student teaching experiences were in Regents Chemistry at a Buffalo Public School and 7th grade science. My background in Biochemistry has allowed me to witness where an education in science could lead to many opportunities in the job market.
Teaching Style
During my undergrad I was taught how to tutor students at the Tutoring Lab where I worked. Teaching students how to think critically is the key to success in any subject area. I found that asking students questions in a systematic way helps build a habit that allows them to approach any situation and come out successfully. I firmly believe in the saying "Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime”. The goal in education is to teach students how to think for themselves.
