Experience Summary
I met a deaf couple at church and became frustrated when I was unable to communicate clearly with them. I took a sign language class in the evenings at Nova and after four classes I knew that I enjoyed learning the language. I then enrolled at MDCC and took ASL I, II, III, and IV, Communication Skills, Voice to Sign, Special Settings, etc. I tutored for four years ASL I,II, & III students at BCC Central Campus. I continue to interpret for my 2 deaf friends whenever needed.
Teaching Style
Sign Language is, what I believe, a very easy language to learn. I enjoy working in individual or group settings. I am very patient and can adapt to each individuals learning style. My goal is to pass along not only the language but the love of the language and desire to continue learning.
