Experience Summary
I have helped many students with various subjects in which I specialize. I've aided people of Hispanic origin to speak and understand English, as well as help English speakers with their Spanish speaking skills. For example, I currently work in a housekeeping office and have daily "students" who ask me specific questions in regards to English. In addition, I have trained managers in my department in basic housekeeping vocabulary, as well help to improve their conversational skills. Because I've always been advanced in Mathematics, I've always helped fellow classmates and members of sports teams with their skills in this area as well. This is inclusive to my older brother, who currently is enrolled in a Statistics and Probability course with which I offer my assistance.
Teaching Style
I feel that my patience, attentiveness, and ability to relate to specific students help me with my style of tutoring. My patience helps me to be persistent even if a student is unable to grasp a concept immediately after explaining it to them. I understand that many students learn in many different ways. In order to overcome this factor one has to be patient and understand how to make a student want to learn. In order to understand a student it's necessary to pay close attention to what helps them learn and what doesn't. The only way to do this is to listen well and instead of thinking about you're going to say next, listen first to what the student has to say. By these means I have been able to successfully understand a person and have been able to teach them in a more successful manner.
