Experience Summary
I have been a professional writer and editor for more than 30 years. I have written and edited a variety of educational and technical materials, including feature stories, newsletter articles, brochures, ads and videos, and I have ghost written two medical marketing texts that were published by a professional association. Although I'm not a certified teacher, I have tutored for 1 and a 1/2 years, and I believe my experience gives me the ability to articulate information clearly and concisely, particularly in the language arts, such as reading, writing and spelling.
Teaching Style
I believe education is the very foundation upon which our society is built, and I am dedicated to helping society through my tutoring. My tutoring experience includes teaching ESL for adults, as well as assisting at-risk elementary students with basic skills, such as reading, writing, spelling and mathematics. I have an easy time getting along with almost all types of people, which I believe comes through in the way I'm able to help my students. I enjoy watching a child's reaction when he/she finally "gets it", and that's what I love most about tutoring.
