Experience Summary
My journey has taken me from elementary to middle school. I began teaching 3rd graders every subject and currently I am focusing on teaching 6th grade math. During my elementary years I was trained extensively in reading instruction. I believe reading is the key to every student’s success. If a child can read he or she can learn and master anything. Currently I am training in 5th to 8th grade math, to better understand the connection between students and mathematical development on every level.
Teaching Style
It is my joy to teach, to meet the challenge of helping each student succeed at something in class. Often a student may have personal trouble or just need someone to see who he or she is as a person. I strive to help my students know I am interested in them as people as well as mathematicians, historians, scientist and readers. If a class misses the teaching goal, I review. If a student misses a teaching goal, I re-teach, no matter what the pacing and planning says. We can not be successful if they do not get the full picture.
