Experience Summary
Academics have always been a primary focus in my life, but having balance is essential. To maintain balance, I actively take part in extracurricular community service with under-served persons of all ages and ethnicities. I was a volunteer at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center and the Sheriff's Department Animal Shelter for several years while attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for my BS in Biochemistry, with a minor in Psychology. I have tutored students in high school and college chemistry, math and French for the past 5 years.
Teaching Style
I am an organized and detail-oriented worker that shows good leadership qualities. I will help promote an efficient, cooperative and effective environment. Courses such as: chemistry, biochemistry, basic pathophysiology, speech communication, calculus, lifespan and human development, 2 years of Spanish, 4 years of French and several upper division laboratory courses have helped me develop the skills required for tutoring. I believe that students need to gain the confidence in themselves in order to be successful academically. It is important that the teacher be encouraging and motivating so the students will have FUN learning!
