Experience Summary
I have been tutoring adolescents and adults in private settings for years and enjoy the one-on-one education the most. I spent five years in Spanish-speaking countries and tutored Spanish speakers in English. I, therefore, understand the two languages inside and out. I love languages and teaching to all ages at all levels and have a great amount of patience with beginners.
Teaching Style
My approach is somewhat relaxed in private classes. I like to bring in A LOT of variety...worksheets, some text, conversation, verbs, songs...etc. I like to make it fun. When tuturing I focus on the upcoming chapter in the text and then come prepared to work on that. I understand the student's struggle with a language and have a very creative and progressive way of explaining things that makes sense to the student. All students have different learning styles, and I will find what works. My goal in teaching languages is to get them speaking, to read out loud, and to love the language as well as understand it.
