Experience Summary
An education in Geology at the University of Michigan has sparked my interest in our planet. My BS in Earth Sciences has fueled my passion for the Earth which I love to share with others. Through many labratory reports and essays, I have developed strong written and verbal skills. In addition, my three years of experience as a camp counselor and my one year of tutoring Latin students has built my confidence as an instructor and educator. I have taken the Earth Sciences Regents exam, as well as many other Regents exams, making me more than familiar with the questions and format.
Teaching Style
I have extensive experience with children of all ages, particularly 9-12. As a camp counselor, I created a fun and safe environment where my children and I grew together. My one year of tutoring lower-level Latin students was very rewarding. I am patient, persisent, and passionate. Having once been a student myself, I've found that I exceled most when I developed a passion for my subject matter. I attempt to make my passion for Earth Sciences (or Latin) contagious to my students. My favorite professors always created an enthusiastic environment for learning and I try to do the same for my students.
