Experience Summary
I graduated with Magna Cum Laude from Marshall University in 2005. I have earned a BA in Psychology. In my senior year in college, I had an opportunity to work at a psychiatric residential treatment program, where I worked with adolescents with serious mental disturbances. In addition, I tutored several children throughout my college years. I also taught Japanese at an after-school program for a semester in West Virginia.
Teaching Style
I refer to my teaching style as creative and fun. When I was teaching Japanese to two young American children, I was constantly challenged with keeping their interests to learn the language. Similar challenges occurred when I taught Japanese in an after-school program. I believe that depth of learning will be determined significantly by how students are taught. I strive to make the learning experience fun for students.
