Experience Summary
As a student of the world, I have always loved to communicate. This love has led me to travel to many different countries around the world and pursue my degrees in Spanish and Education. I have studied Portuguese and French, and I hope to continue to learn languages for the rest of my life. I have earned a BA in Spanish and a Masters in Education which has enabled me to experience an extensive range of employment opportunities in our community. During the last several years, I have worked as a teacher, interpreter, and reading comprehension tester for School District 4J. I have worked as a research assistant for the University of Oregon collecting data for the Center for the Advancement of Technology in Education (C.A.T.E.) through providing support and tutoring foe E.L.L. students. I worked as a Spanish teacher for the Cyber Oregon On-Line School (COOLSchool) for the last 4 years as a Spanish teacher.
Teaching Style
Each child is unique and has a unique learning style; therefore, it is important that the teacher be willing to accommodate all different styles. I have always been interested in creating an environment where the student can explore and learn through using all modalities. I am interested in doing my best to help the children I interact with become curious about the subject and to develop a palpable intelligence of fluently speaking Spanish.
