Experience Summary
My first teaching experience involved establishing a Title I Kindergarten classroom. Since that first few months of teaching, I have loved working with children at the kindergarten level and teaching them the basics of learning to read and prepare them for 1st grade. I have taken several classes from different universities in teaching reading and methods of teaching. I am a retired teacher, but continue to work with children through volunteer work.
Teaching Style
I love working with children and am able to communicate with most in a way that produces a secure and encouraging environment. I am patient, easy going, and respect each child's right to express himself in an appropriate way. I believe each child can learn if he is given the appropriate materials, methods, and teacher for his style of learning.
