Experience Summary
I have experience in teaching elementary & secondary grade levels. Having taught kindergarten and first grade, I have knowledge of the scope of learning for those levels as well as tutoring experience within that age group. Reading & science are my strong tutoring points. I have also provided counseling for students.
In the secondary grades, I have taught and am currently teaching 9th grade physical science and 10th grade biology. I feel I could be of benefit in tutoring reading, science, and social skills.
Teaching Style
I have a passion for learning and seek to exude that into my teaching style. I like to have fun with my students and earn their trust at the same time. I do have a habit of catering to each need and trying my best at seeing to their success. While I strongly desire a structured atmosphere for learning, I do not shy away from a little spontaneity here and there. I have found that this keeps the attention of my students and also provides for their further enjoyment of particular subjects that would ordinarily be dull.
