Experience Summary
I have been a University-level professor for over 30 years. I hold two (Licentiate degrees)BS degrees form University of Havana, one in Chemistry Education and another in Pharmaceutical Biochemistry. In addition, I held several Certificates in Nutrition Biochemistry including the study of Carbohydrates, Proteins and Lipids. In my home country I conducted several research experiments and have written a book on my original research. I have been a Senior Pharmacy Technician for the past seven years and have worked in hospitals, primarily working with TPN, IVs and pediatrics. For the past year I was Program coordinator at Keiser Career College teaching courses in the Pharmacy Technician program. I conducted review courses for the PTCB Certifaction and had 100% pass rates. In addition, I was Externship coordinator for KCC and over 90% of my students were hired upon graduation. I have been teaching and tutoring Chemistry (all areas), Biology, Nutrition and Pharmacy courses for over 30 years. I also have experience with special needs children. I ran a Psychiatric ward in Cuba teaching/tutoring autistic children and was recognized for my achievemnets in the field.
Teaching Style
I have patience and compassion, two important skills to help children achieve their academic goals. I take my time repeating pertinent information and help reinforce the important aspects of a lesson. I have no trouble in repeating myself several times or in answering questions. I will go to any length to help a child or adult succeed. I have earned Teaching Excellence awards in both Cuba and Florida because of my dedication to all students.
