Experience Summary
I am a first year Doctoral student at the University of
Colorado Boulder. I was a TA last semester for the department of Journalism and Mass Communication, and I have six semesters of TA experience from Cornell University in the departments of Communication, History, Asian Studies, and Near Eastern Studies.
Teaching Style
I am interested in this position both because I enjoy teaching and I have a strong interest in international communities. I spent a portion of last year in South Asia conducting fieldwork for my thesis and realized just how much capital language has in the social arena. When I returned from India, I began tutoring international school age children to improve their English language,
particularly in writing assignments. For this reason I am most interested in tutoring children and adults with language barriers.
