Experience Summary
Since I was in elementary school, I always had a passion for the English language and was determined to acquire an excellent command of this universal language. While in junior high, I won a county-wide competition in English ("the Academic Olympics"). While in college, I majored in English, with creative writing concentration. I then enrolled in law school, an institution which further refined and polished my already sharp English writing skills (via the drafting of pleadings, memoranda of law, legal briefs, and numerous research papers) Having obtained my Juris doctorate degree, I chose to pursue my legal studies overseas and earned a Master's in European Business Law (program taught in English). Several theses were required for completion of the program. Throughout the years,I have tutored at several learning centers as well as engaged in self-employed private tutoring. I also substitute taught English in public schools whenever the opportunity was presented to me.
Teaching Style
I truly believe that teaching is an art and a multi-lateral discipline, one incorporating psychology, communication, anthropology, sociology, coaching, and marketing to name a few. Children need someone to believe in them and encourage them to be the best that they can be. Having been a student for over 20 years, I have learned what a great professor is made of and what a pupil really needs to succeed. Some of my biggest role models have been professors; now, it is my turn to be that enthusiastic beacon of academic triumph and achievement to this new generation. I feel that I can infuse a lot of respect for and joy into the adventure of learning.
