Experience Summary
I have been a substitute teacher in all academic subjects. I have managed a classroom of 5-12th graders as well as presented the lesson prepared by the teacher for that day. This experience has increased my knowledge of the behavior of middle and high school students. In addition to my substitute teaching duties, I have accumulated over 600 hours in the classroom through internships and student teaching. I participated in the “Summer in the City” internship given by the New York City Board of Education in the summer of 2003. This gave me invaluable experience with a diverse learning population in an urban learning environment. Furthermore, I have performed over sixty hours of one-on-one tutoring in all subjects.
I graduated from the State University of New York College at Geneseo in December, 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a provisional teaching certificate in Biology and General Science (7-12).
Teaching Style
I love kids and I love teaching. Each student has a different learning style, and I will adapt my teaching methods to accomodate their needs. I think that my patience, dedication, and enthusiasm for the profession will be a great benefit to all with whom I come in contact. I believe all children can learn and I will do everything I can for each of my students to achieve their goals.
