Experience Summary
I have always loved children and valued education. Growing up with a younger sister who suffered from learning disabilities, I acquired the patience and understanding that is necessary to work with children. In addition to a Bachelor's Degree in psychology, I have been a tutor for the past four years. I have tutored seventh grade up through college level coursework including, but not limited to, statistics, chemistry, algebra, psychology and history. I also have experience with children outside of tutoring, including working as an assistant teacher at a private nursery school and working for two years as a senior summer camp counselor.
Teaching Style
Having worked with various children with different needs, including those with ADHD, I have come to believe that in teaching children, one must develop an individualized approach. I love one-on-one tutoring because this affords me the opportunity to fully tailor my teaching methods to the needs of the child. My patient, easygoing and fun nature allows me to work well with children of all different temperaments. I take no greater pleasure than successfully aiding a child in his or her academic pursuits.
