Experience Summary
I started out as a student tutor in the early 90's in California. I finished my MA in mathematics in 2000 at Cal State Sacramento. I have been teaching the past 10 years (including as a grad student) and have experience with all levels of high school and college level mathematics and statistics, including College Math, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Elementary Statistics, Pre-algebra and Arithmetic. I currently teach at Arizona State University and Chandler-Gilbert Community Colleges as an adjunct math instructor.
Teaching Style
I have always found that one-on-one teaching is my forte. Even when I teach a class of 40 students, I find ways for them to work collaboratively, and so that I can also work with the ones that need the most help. I have been tutoring and teaching for 16 years, and I know all the tricks to being a good tutor, such as explaining a concept in as many possible ways in order to get the student to understand the concept. I have received high accolades as a tutor and teacher. This is what I was born to do. When I teach a class I have high expectations of the students. I believe this is important for them to learn what is expected of them, and so that they can succeed in the subsequent levels of math without falling behind.
