Experience Summary
Living with a disability has posed more challenges in my education than the average person, yet I have faced these challenges and overcome them. I earned my bachelor degree in social welfare in three years and I recently obtained my graduate degree in criminology, law, & society - both from the University of California. During my undergraduate studies I obtained a tutoring certificate and studied abroad. Ever since my graduate studies I have contributed to the community by volunteering at a local rape crisis agency and I have also learned Italian, Portuguese, and I am continually perfecting my Spanish.
Teaching Style
I like to see children succeed, especially if I contribute to that progress. Teaching has been personal to me as I have regularly helped my nephew many times with his homework when he was younger. My goal is for students to reach success - whether it is to help students understand a concept or to help them solve a problem correctly, I am reluctant to quit and I keep working until students are on the right path or until they have reached their goal. I aspire for students to reach beyond their horizon by attempting more difficult levels once they have mastered the level of learning that they are at.
