Experience Summary
I have always wanted to teach. While in high school, I spent half of my school day being a teacher's assistance at an elementary school. I started my college experience at Adams State College in the Education department. During my initial years in college, I completed multiple teaching courses including: Intro to Education, Teaching Exceptional Students in a Regular Classroom, and Child Development. I changed degrees to broaden my opportunities but never lost my desire to teach. With my bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics, I learned to break down complex concepts into understandable pieces. I tutored many classmates throughout every level of my education and helped them with learning and applying difficult constructs from math and computers to study skills.
Teaching Style
From the time I was in 4th grade, I have always had a strong passion to teach our young people and assist in developing the next generation that will run this country. Being deeply inspired by multiple teachers throughout my schooling, I too have wanted to make the same type of impact on children. Good teachers are the ones who wake up everyday excited to expand young minds and challenge them to strive for their potential. Seeing that "light bulb" go off when a child learns something that they have struggled with is one of the greatest joys in life. Every child deserves a chance to learn in a safe and encouraging environment; I believe in providing this through individual interactions with each one.
