Experience Summary
As a graduate in Political Science from the U.S. Naval Academy, I received an education focusing on critical thinking and writing, but also heavily steeped in math, science, and engineering as well. All graduates are required to take 5 semesters of math (through Calculus and Differential Equations), a year each of chemistry and physics, and 6 semesters of engineering classes regardless of major. During my Naval career, I served as a Training and Readiness officer as well as various instructor positions. For the past eight years my wife and I have homeschooled our three children in all aspects of traditional education.
Teaching Style
My career regularly involves conveying very complicated and technical ideas to people in as clear and simple a manner as possible. I take personal pride in doing what is necessary to present the subject matter in a way that the student will understand. I believe it's the responsibility of the teacher to find how to best reach the student.
