Experience Summary
I begin my career on Wall Street, as a receptionist, working in the Bond Department. I eventually entered into the Investment Banking/Planning and Trading field through promotions. I stayed away from the education field, because many of my family members were teachers and counselors. However, when I started volunteering as a "Motivational Speaker" for un-wed mothers, I was touched by the plight of their stories. Years later, I signed up to be a Substitute Teacher in Broward County. I was convinced that I could make a difference in the way students were taught and I did.
Teaching Style
As a young single parent, I didn't have much to offer my daughter in terms of material possessions. However, I believed that an education would be her key to a better life. I nurtured her with love and encouragement. I encouraged her to believe that she could be and do anything that she wanted to, if she worked hard. On June 7th 2008, my daughter graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Ph.D. of Philosophy in Sociology. I take what I gave to my daughter and I freely give to my students. I teach and tutor with words of encouragement. My goal is to help every student to reach their full potential for a successful education.
