Experience Summary
In addition to earning an MBA and a BA in Political Science, I have just completed my Doctorate in Education. I have extensive writing, grammar, and reading comprehension skills from writing and researching my dissertation and numerous research papers. I have worked in government, education, and business giving me a solid foundation in subjects such as history, government, and leadership. The dissertation research I conducted and the market research I managed at J.D. Power and Associates has also provided me with a strong background in statistics. I have tutored students in reading, writing, math, study skills, and literature.
Teaching Style
I believe students have the potential to master anything they find interesting. It is my job, as a tutor, to engage each student in a way that motivates them and helps them believe in themselves. I look for experiences in each student's life to help them connect with the learning process. As I teach, I look for ways to help students develop many skills and talents. I have spent many years researching, writing, and presenting Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences. I model my teaching style in a way that reflects my student's development across all of the intelligences.
