Experience Summary
Coming from a family of educators, I have always had a desire to teach and instruct. My areas of study and concentration have provided me with the skills that are characteristic of advanced readers and writers. My eleven years of teaching experience have kept me sharp and current with the newest best practices in the classroom. I have taken this and transferred it to the students that I tutor.
Teaching Style
Simply put, I firmly believe that all children can learn and achieve at a high level. Student achievement correlates directly with expectation. Unfortunately, for many students expectations are low. High expectations lead to high achievements. As a teacher, it is my job to find ways to motivate my students to learn. This can be accomplished in many different ways. Differentiated instruction is the first step; students learn in differently and at their own pace. I need to be aware of this. Another way I keep students motivated is by changing the delivery of instruction; everyday, I do something different to deliver the material. I also try to make it relevant, so my students remain interested. These strategies and methods serve to make a positive impact on my students' lives.
