Experience Summary
I believe education and a safe learning environment is important for today's youth so I have been studying to be an elementary school counselor. I have three years experience working in high risk elementary schools in Washington. Along with my BA in Applied Psychology I have a minor in drug and alcohol studies, better preparing me to work with students and their pressures. I will be receiving my master's degree this quarter. I have had experience as a tutor while being an intern as a school counselor. I tutored elementary aged students in math, English, reading, and science. I am very computer savvy and have great writing and speaking abilities.
Teaching Style
I am very recently educated with the newest ideas, innovations, and teaching techniques. I am very patient, caring, eager to teach students, and to watch them learn and grow. Students that I've worked with in the past were at-risk, difficult, unsocial students who were very behind in school. I was able to watch them change into students who contribute in their classrooms, strived to be at their class level, loved learning and reading, and became all around great students. I know I make a difference in my students', lives and very excited to contribute more.
