Experience Summary
As a high school teacher for 13 years, I have had a profound impact on the academic and personal success of a great majority of my students. I have won many "inspirational teacher awards" and have been identified by many of my students as the teacher most responsible for their success. They have said that I have made learning interesting, fun, and rewarding for them because I have a unique way of helping students make meaningful connections between academics and their lives. I have taught world history, U.S. history, geography, psychology, study skills, health and core English. I have traveled to 53 countries, been a professional singer, a collegiate national champion in crew, and a triathelete. I have taken a one year leave of absence from my high school and moved to Lighthouse point in order to write a book. I look forward to helping inspire students to achieve great things.
Teaching Style
"No one will care what you know until they know that you care." I have great enthusiasm and passion for teaching and I make great connections with students. I know all people are capable of change and growth. I strive to help create life-long learners who are motivated to grow. My instruction and coaching techniques are very user friendly, and have been very successful for high academic achievers as well as students who struggle with academics and are very resistant to anything that has to do with school.
