Experience Summary
I have extensive and varied experience in teaching. I taught a number of English classes while serving as a missionary in Thailand for 18 months. During graduate school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I served as a teaching assistant for a graduate-level course in behavior change theories. I am currently serving as a Teacher Development Coordinator for a community organization. My responsibilities include organizing monthly classes for teachers of adults, teenagers, and children. These classes focus on improving teaching techniques. Through both my undergraduate and graduate training, I have gained skills in writing, grammar, biology, science, and mathematics.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching and helping others thrive. I truly believe knowledge is power and is the key to success in life. My teaching style is centered on respect. I respect my students and act in ways to instill respect for themselves as well as for all within the classroom. I also think it is important to build confidence and trust. I seek to understand my students and to build on their skills. Teachers and students work best as a team; a team that will learn together and from each other.
