Experience Summary
I have been teaching both elementary education and special education (learning disabilities) for many years. I have also taught Read to Achieve for several years. I have tutored students in grades K-3 as well as special needs children. I have extensive extra hours in reading and language arts areas.
Teaching Style
One of the things that keeps me in the teaching profession is my love and enjoyment of seeing children succeed. I am not happy until the children have confidence and know that they are able to do what they need to do competently. I am trustworthy, patient and willing to try various methods to help the child. I always assess before I continue with tutoring to see what will best meet the needs of the individual child. I use a variety of methods in order for the child to be successful. I am a firm believer that anyone can achieve with a little extra time if necessary.
