Experience Summary
As a family and consumer science educator I have taught many different courses and a diverse population of students. I have taught clothing and fashion, food and nutrition, international and regional foods, culinary arts, life skills, and I have taught courses catered towards special education and ESL students. I am fluent in Spanish and have a true passion for teaching. I have recently been assigned tutoring a special education student. I teach him basic nutrition and how to live with diabetes. I find tutoring a very rewarding aspect of teaching.
Teaching Style
I believe that all children have strengths and weaknesses. As an educator I have to encourage students to focus on their strengths while assisting them with those areas that cause them difficulty. There should never be a point when a child cannot learn. Children can learn anything given the right instruction and environment that caters to their needs.
