Experience Summary
As a son, grandson and nephew of those who have been educators on the high school and collegiate level, I understood what study skills were required of me to become an exceptional student. Being the eldest son, my brothers leaned on me to assist them with homework and projects. I was held accountable throughout my educational career and a sturdy set of study skills helped me maintain my scholarship and achieve goals I set for myself. I just finished studying for and taking the LSAT and feel that my study skills helped. I have tutored friends and family and have been a volunteer coach teaching the game of basketball and football.
Teaching Style
I think I can relate to the student because at some point of your life you will need someone to help you understand a topic a little better or lend a hand in teaching the subject in their terms to help you maximize your potential. Sometimes a student just needs that extra push, but done in a way that makes the student understand the material giving them the added confidence that they can be successful in school. My parents and relatives who were educators themselves and taught many of the subjects we took in school helped my brothers and I. I think that they instilled those same qualities that I use when I tutor.
