Experience Summary
I have a master's degree in teaching elementary education and I am excellent at reinforcing skills learned in grades K-6. My professional experience includes working in Academy School District #20 for five years as a 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade teacher. I have also tutored students prior to and since the years I spent as a classroom instructor. In addition to my teaching experience I have worked in positions of responsibility as a manager and corporate trainer.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is to recognize the learning stategy of the students that I am working with (tactile, verbal, auditory) and try to assist the students by facilitating the learning process in a comfortable way. An example of this would be to design a lesson around a point of interest for the student and to introduce books that he/she would enjoy followed with a relevant learning activity. I engage the students, encouraging them to think through problem solving situations with effective questioning. I set high standards for effort with my students and reward them accordingly with knowledgeable and fun instruction. I have had many successes in my role as educator, trainer, and manager.
