Experience Summary
For as long as I can remember I have been tutoring students in various subjects. My tutoring experience started when I was still in elementary school and has yet to be interrupted. I had the privilege of being a course assistant for two years during my undergraduate work, which gave me experience in front of the classroom as well as the skill of tutoring and facilitating study groups outside the classroom. I feel my strengths lie in the areas of Psychology, beginning Statistics, English, and Language Arts. I have also tutored in the areas of beginning Spanish and lower level Math.
Teaching Style
Having been raised by two teachers, education has always been an important aspect of my life. One of the most important aspects of education, I feel, is determining the most effective learning style for oneself and being able to study and process information using that method. I do not believe that there is a child that is "unteachable," rather I trust in the fact that once a child has the necessary skills to process information the way it makes sense to them, every child has the capability to learn. I strive to make learning fun and use tricks such as writing songs, drawing pictures, flashcards, rapping and many more to aide in the process of understanding, comprehension and retention.
