Experience Summary
As an elementary educator, I have experience presenting information to students in a student friendly language. Additionally, I am also very well versed in the Georgia State Performance Standards for elementary students in all subject areas. Although I am a trained and certified teacher, I have a sincere heart for tutoring on a one-on-one basis and breaking down information to students that often struggle in the whole group instructional setting. I believe that becoming a part of this network will be a very benificial partnership between an eager educator and an organization that is steadfast in supporting students in their academic endeavors.
Teaching Style
I absolutely love children. As a 2007 Teach for America core member I am a believer in the motto, "One day all students will have the opportunity of a quality education in this country." My teaching style is very energetic and full of self-content correlations, analogies, and logarithms to help make information more student-friendly and relevant to the learner. I am a firm believer in using manipulatives and various forms of techniques to teach a objective in order to give the learner a variety of approaches to mastering the given skill. All children can learn and all children can be taught, however, every child does not learn the same way. It is, therefore, the educators responsibility to present information in a variety of ways for a variety of learning styles.
